Hello and welcome to our website. I am Jordan Pittman. My brother Nolan and I are South African Boerboel Breeders. Our "kennel" name stems from the Boerboel being South Africas very own Breed. The South African Boerboels is still a rare guardian breed here in the United State's and we find South African Boerboels excitingly strange because they are far different (in a positive way) than any other breed of dog we have ever encountered. Our South African Boerboels are athletic, smart, muscular and beautiful.

We have what we like to call true South African Boerboels. Our dogs were specifically selected based upon their breeding value. When we say "breeding value" what we mean is what they are capable of contributing to the breed based on their genetics.

Our South African Boerboels must have the total package in order to qualify as breeding stock.

South African Boerboels were specifically bred for companionship, guarding and protection duties without being highly aggressive. The ideal South African Boerboel is a gentle family pet yet a ferocious protector when called to do so. True South African Boerboels display a superb temperament. Any good boerboel has the imposing look that make a would be burgalar think " Ill go across the street and look for an easier target."The best South African Boerboels have a look that says "I am super strong and I can crush you bones with my jaws." But after being accepted by the pack leader. Real South African Boerboels become very accepting .

Buyer beware of South African Boerboel Breeders claiming to have "true working stock" then all they show you is a dog biting on a sleeve. That is not proving you have working South African Boerboels. It does prove you can make your dog mad enough to bite. Yes South African Boerboels can be trained to be protection dogs. Are they the best dogs for the specific purpose of being a personal protection dog? I would say NO.

A good protection dog has strong prey drive. South African Boerboels have more of what is known as defense drive. They are not bred to hunt and chase. A true South African Boerboel is not looking to bite and fight. If called to do so a boerboel is more than capable of inflicting serious damage. If a boerbol has biten I am willing to bet that it gave you every oppurtunity to What boerboels do best is body guard. As long as no threat is approaching then my boerboels are fine. When a threat is approaching my Boerboels become very uptight and ready themselves to engage.

In my experience a Boerboel is best suited as a family oriented multi purpose defense dog. They were designed for farm life duties and defending against large predators.Beware of these so called Boerboel breeders who are trying alter the purpose of the South African Boerboel into personal protection dogs. I have knowledge some of these breeders are breeding their dogs with Hounds and Great Danes to make better protection dogs. I know some breeders are breeding to English Mastiffs to increase their size. Just look at their dogs and you will see traces of Hound Mastiff and Great Dane. Pay close attention to the big houndy flapping ears.Beware of the supersized giant Boerboel. Also look at the thin light bones, low or very little muscle, and narrow chest. These are usaually the tell tale signs of the Hound Great Dane English Mastiff South African Boerboel breeders. And there are many in the United States breeding weak varieties and cross varieties. I would stear clear of the breeders who avoid having their dogs evaluated by a recognised South African Boerboel Authority.

Now when It comes to true boerboel temperament thats when you start to talk about Dopper Greit. She scored correct accordig to the Sabt test on her temperament portion of the assesment. She came in coring a 75.2% due to her 1st pregnancy and her height( her two major faults). She born October 27, 2005 and appraised November 8th 2007. We obtained Dopper Greit thanks to Mike Otis . She came into our home and immediatly became family . Dopper Greit adores my daughter just like the original Boerboel Bloodlines were bred to do in South Africa. In fact Dopper Greit is from the older bloodline of Boerboels. Dopper Boerboel bred some of the most legendary South African Boerboels in the history of the breed. Including Corma Buks noted in Greit and Pluto's pedigree. This breeding is of the highest degree and will produce some very nice puppies. My goal as a breeder is to produce the best athleticism temperaments and confromation seen inthe breed . Pluto is the best of the best of South African Boerboels. My goal is to produce more Boerboels like Pluto. Boerboels Like Pluto can excel at whatever they work hard at. Though he may not be the biggest dog What he lack in size he makes up in heart. Boerboel ancestors can be traced to the original assiryan dogs of 640 Bc. From then until 1983 the boerboel had no standard and we bred specifically for function by old school tough farmer. In 1983 a few boerboel breeders joined togeher and formed the SABT who register and score boerboels using a unique appraisal system. The idea of the SABT is to check to see which boerboels are true accurate representations of the breed. No dog can be

We got Pluto in July of 2006. He came to us Attie Badenhorest of Baden Boerboels in South Africa. It took a quite a bit of research and patience to get him, but at the moment we saw him it was love at first sight. Initially we didn't have plans to breed boerboels but we feel that to not breed with Pluto would be a dissservice to the breed.

Pluto is a credit to the dogs in his pedigree. He is from some of the finest breeding animals in boerboels existence. He represent a moderns cross of the original bloodlines. Thanks Attie you are skilled in your beeding. It has been a pleasure raising this magnificent animal.
